MOTÖRHEAD Song Featured In New DISNEY Movie / North American shows - 2009

On November 21, Walt Disney Pictures will release "Bolt", starring the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus, and featuring MOTÖRHEAD's song "Dog-Face Boy" from the band's "Sacrifice" album. The song is in a mailroom scene where a young worker is listening to it on his headphones and inadvertently wraps super-dog Bolt up in a box that gets shipped off to New York City.

Stranger things have happened, as Disney isn't the first to pick up on the MOTÖRHEAD mystique: there was a MOTÖRHEAD song in the "SpongeBob SquarePants" movie, too. Just goes to show you that there are MOTÖRHEAD fans of all ages everywhere. And says Lemmy, the band's indestructible and renowned leader, "It's never too early to get the kids started on our music!"

MOTÖRHEAD and SOCIAL DISTORTION have been tapped to headline the inaugural 25-city Samsung Mobile Musink Tattoo and Music Festival, which will also feature popular tattoo artist and cable TV personality Kat Von D on all dates.

An official itinerary is still in the works, but the North American trek will visit arenas, exhibition halls and convention centers beginning January 30 in San Francisco.

Limited Edition T-Shirt Available!

Filmmakers Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski have been working hard on a documentary about legendary MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister and are offering a shirt as a special, limited-edition release to celebrate this long-overdue film. Lemmy himself designed the shirt. A portion of the sale of each shirt goes towards supporting the film's production.

The documentary, tentatively titled "Lemmy" is slated for release in 2009. The film promises fans more access than ever before to Kilmister's life, and includes interviews with past and present bandmates and such peers/admirers as Slash, Dave Grohl, THE CLASH's Mick Jones, Alice Cooper, Steve Vai and wrestling superstar Triple H, according to Billboard.com.

Olliver and Orshoski are shooting the film on a combination of HD video and super 16 mm film. Other giants from the world of metal and hard rock will appear in the film as well, with details to be announced. "We haven't heard the word 'no' yet after any interview request," Olliver told Billboard.com

10yr old boy from New Jersey will be appearing in the new MOTÖRHEAD video

According to MyCentralJersey.com, a 10-year-old boy from South Plainfield, New Jersey will be appearing in the world premiere of the new MOTÖRHEAD video "Rock Out", set to air at 10 p.m. Thursday, October 23, during "Headbanger's Ball" on MTV2.

"The kids in school didn't believe me when I told them," Luke Painton said. "I'm going to put it on my iPod and bring it to school."

One of the video's producers, Wes Orshoski, was pleased with Painton's performance.

"Luke was very nervous at first, but he killed it in the end," said Orshoski. "It was probably my favorite part of the video."

Luke and his 15-year-old brother Tanner, who both play guitar, went to a Masters of Metal concert in August with their parents, Jim and Dale.

"These guys were heroes of mine since I was Luke's age," Jim Painton said of MOTÖRHEAD. "I used to watch their videos in the early 1980s on UHF, the 'Heavy Metal Power Hour'. I'm probably as excited as Luke about this."

Motörhead Shares Milestone with MTV’s Headbangers Ball

Video from new release “Motörizer” will premiere on Oct 23rd at 10pm during the 20th anniversary show

Red Bank, NJ, Oct 17, 2008- After a successful summer release of their new album Motörizer, Motörhead is gearing up to share another piece of themselves with their fans: a video for their anthemic song “Rock Out”. This has been a huge year for the Grammy award-winning band, debuting in the Billboard Top 100 charts, and engaging fans with two back-to-back, high profile US tours.  However, this is not only a big year for Motörhead; MTV’s legendary heavy metal show Headbangers Ball will be celebrating its 20 year anniversary next week.  What better way to simultaneously acknowledge the icons of Rock ‘n Roll and the longest running, most respected show in metal, than by premiering Motörhead’s new video during the Headbangers Ball anniversary week?

On Thursday, October 23rd at 10pm Eastern, the exclusive world premiere of Motörhead’s “Rock Out” video will be aired on MTV2.  The online debut of “Rock Out” will coincide with the television premiere right on Headbangers Blog (headbangersblog. com).  Along with the brand new video, fans will be able to read about the “making of” from co-directors Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, as well as a message from Lemmy!

Although Headbangers Ball usually airs at 11pm on Saturday nights, it will be taking over MTV2 in honor of their anniversary week.   Starting on October 20th, viewers will witness a metal mash-up, including interviews, classic videos, exclusive premieres, VJ discussions, and much more.  In addition to the Motörhead premiere, you’ll also be able to catch a classic Motörhead video during the 2 hour special on October 25th!  Whether you’re a long-time Motörhead enthusiast or part of the next generation of fans, don’t miss your chance to witness a piece of heavy metal history, this Thursday on MTV2.
