Q. Of all the bands you've ever toured with, who were your favorite, and
least favorite?
A. They've all been pretty good - once you have a word with them!
Q. Hey Lemmy!!!! I just finished reading the newest Questions and Answers,
and I noticed that in one of your answers, you said you never rode a
Harley. Hmmm....I could've sworn I saw you riding a Hawg in the Killed by
Death vid, and weren't you in the Hell's Angels once? Just Curious. You
guys fukkin RULE!!! Overnight Sensation SMOKES!!!!!!!!
A. I fell off the bloody thing! No, wasn't in the Hell's Angles - I used to share an apartment with a couple of them.
Q. Just to say thanks for an excellent Astoria, London gig. I have been
lusting from a distance since early Roundhouse gigs '75/76 (yes I am that
old!) and last Sunday reminded me of the early years. To what do you owe
this new lease of life-or is it just better substances? - Rhonda
A. Lusting from a distance? Should've told me! I think the moustache was sapping me strength!
Q. Lemmy, what is the meaning of life?
A. The meaning of life is that nobody fucking knows, so we make up shit to feel better. Good Luck!
Q. Lemmy: You are an oasis of meat in an arid wilderness of wannabe, has
been, dried up mediocre morsels of bread crumbs!!
Also, and this is a question that has tortured me for 15 years: How come
you never did a tour with the Ramones? I would have sold my soul to Ronald
Reagan and paid a years salary to see that!
Since the demise of the Ramones, the only band that matters anymore is
Motorhead; may you rock on until you are 80 years old!
A. Oasis of MEAT? Good lord, what a repulsive mind-picture THAT is! Joey and Me were always saying we were gonna tour together, but, except for one
show in Argentina, never happened.
Q. Lemmy, I would really like to see you kick Marilyn Manson's ass. Would
you consider doing that?
A. He'd probably enjoy it.
Q. Once you came to our country (and you play with Ramones) you promised us
you'll make a song for us (Argentine Motorhead fans). We need to hear it
soon!! Thanks, see you soon in concert.
A. Yes, as soon as I find a rhyming word!
Q. I read that Wurzel released a solo album many years ago. Have you ever
considered doing a solo album or a non-Motorhead album with guest
musicians?
A. Yeah, for 15 years I have meant to do it. But, I never seem to have any time. Perhaps next year. Or 2000?
Q. How on earth did you end up singing Countdown with Albert Jarvinen Band
and did you really consider taking him as a guitar player for Motorhead
back in 1984?
A. They had no singer. No, I didn't. He's the late Alert Jarvinen now. R.I.P.
Q. Have you really seen angels with flaming swords, and stuff like that?
If so, do you trip a lot on LSD? Do you think you are destined for heaven
or hell? I've noticed, on the new album, that you talk about the Law quite
a bit. What is the story behind that? Is the Law something ethereal, or
do you mean the Law of Nature? Thank you, Lemmy.
A. Yes. Yes. Who cares. Yes. The law is the difference between right and wrong.
Q. Overnight Sensation is great and I love listening to Civil War so loud
that I get stupid. I play the electric bass and was wondering if a
distortion pedal would come to any use? What are all the instruments that
you can play? What is your favorite instrument? I love the super hell
walrus logo!
A. I don't use pedals. Just turn it up and hit it very hard! Guitar, Bass, Harmonica. Walrus? I hadn't thought of that!
Q. Lemmy, do you ever consider playing songs that you haven't played in a
while when you make out the set list?
A. Yes.
Q. Dearest Lemmy, how come your the same age as my old man, but he takes an
hour to get out of his chair, while your still fucking all around you like
a REAL MAN. What I'm trying to say is, please explain your obviously
strict diet and lifestyle that keeps you so cherub-like.
A. 'Cos He's not in Motorhead, my lamb.
Q. Lemmy, are you now or were you ever a fan of the American television
show "The A-Team". Some of your songs seem really A-Teamish.
A. No. A-Teamish? GOOD GRIEF!
Q. Are you and Elton John ever going to get together and sing "Can you Feel
the Love Tonight?"
A. I doubt it very much.
Q. I read in RIP magazine that you were writing an autobiography. What is
the status of this project?
A. In Transit.
Q. Lemmy, what motivates you to continue the traditional Motorhead sound
after all these years???
A. There is no traditional Motorhead sound. Changes all the time, you oaf.
Well, that's it for now. We'll be posting more Q+A very soon so keep sending them in.
