Q. Why the hell did you have to leave us in Groningen because of one or two beer throwing idiots. A lot of people paid a lot of money to see you.
A. I already have 10 stitches in my left hand - nearly lost the thumb and forefinger - and I like my eyes! So who gave them the right to throw stuff? And who said you couldn't stop them you big brave boy!
Q. I've been listening to No Sleep 'til Hammersmithe excessively lately.
Playing guitar my self, I can't help wondering all those weird noises here
and there (especially at the ends of the songs). Is it massive feedback or
what?
A. Is it applause?
Q. Why did Michael Moorcock dedicate (in part) the "Dancers at the End of
Time" trilogy to you?
A. 'cos he likes me!
Q. How does it feel to be such an influence on the music scene over the
years? Several bands claim that Motorhead were their biggest influence
i.e.,. Did you ever think that playing fast and loud would lead to
"Thrash" and "Death Metal" and all these other subgenres? -Do you also
keep in touch with the former members of the band? What's Robbo up to? I
was at the infamous Cleveland gig in December of 1984 when the plaster
fell from the ceiling...!! It's my favorite show of all time!
A. Feels warm and snuggly. Yes. No. Some of 'em. I never really knew what Robbo was up to! Thanks, and keep on dodging!
Q. I don't want to ask anything I just wanted to say how much I love the
band. I listen your music every day. It just wouldn't be the same if I
didn't have it.
Thanx
Love, Jennie
A. Me too. Thank you. Come and say hello, if we come to your area.
Q. What inspired you to write songs like "I don't believe a word" and "Lost
in the ozone"? They are the best. Motorhead forever!!!
A. Cynicism and self pity. Thank you.
Q. Lemmy, Why didn't Fast Eddie sing any other tunes than "Step Down" off
the Bomber album? He has a great voice. Did he sing in any other bands
before or after Motorhead? Any unreleased Motorhead tunes? Keep up the
great work I can't wait until you come back to S.F.
A. We couldn't get the son of a bitch to sing! We tried, God knows. Actually, he sings "Emergency" as well.
Q. What about Robbo? I really dug "Another Perfect Day", and the ensuing
tour. Was it the ballet shoes, or was it his playing?
A. It was his prone position during the show, mainly - you could see right up his tutu.
Q. Is saturation of your bass coming from your amp-tubes or from external
effects??
A. External effects?
Q. Did you always use distortion on your bass, or was it a leftover from
the rhythm guitarist
days?
PS. Do you have a favorite kind of pizza?
A. I don't use distortion. Yes.
Q. Why where you in such a rush after the gig in Stockholm?
2.This is not! A question, just a remark. My oldest daughter says thanks
for signing her cap cos when she was a baby, her best lullaby where the Ace
Of Spades album. Thanks for 22 years of life support. My English is a bit
rusty but I bet it beats your Swedish. Have a good life!!!!!!!!!!
A. You're right. It is much better than my Swedish. My gibberish is fluent, however!
Q. Your music is the fire in my soul. I have two questions for you: A)
What does the "B" stand for in "Snaggletooth B. Motorhead? 2) Do you have
any FUCKING videos?!? I mean the kind you can buy at the store?? The idea
of watching the glory is too good to let alone - if you don't have any,
please make some! Thanx for the music.
A. Bastard. Available are "Everything Louder Than Everything Else" on Sony. "Live In Toronto" and "Deaf Not Blind".
Q. Just a few words...while a huge Metallica fan, I always came across a
band called "Motorhead", who the fuck are they I asked, was I in for a
surprise, you guys kick serious ass. I was wondering, whats your favorite
pre-concert food (I thought of a trick to sneak backstage, hehe)?
A. Toasted young woman w/white sauce! If you bring one - you can come backstage!
Q. Who is "Kilaister" in the "leaving here / white line fever" Motorhead
CD?? 3;-) I suppose its a mistake, or does it means anything weird? :-)
A. It's my name, you poor fish.
Q. Lemmy, I saw a clip on MTV with you and Phill Lynot Jamming. Also Brian
(a bit musical) Robertson is on "Another Perfect Day". So my question is,
"Were Motorhead very tight with Thin Lizzy".
Thank you,
Damon L. Duperre
A. Yes.
Q. What happened to the bomber that was part of the stage from many years
ago? I loved it. If its still around, please bring it back!! Or maybe
sell it to me? I would like to put it on my front lawn for the benefit of
my neighbors. FUCK THE BASTARDS.
A. The gigs we do in the US are too small to fly it (3 hydraulic units). We'd love to use it. It's propping up a shed in Norfolk at the moment.
Q. I know this is *old* stuff, but: Will the Rockin' Vicars stuff ever get
re-released? And, was it a conscious decision to rewrite "You're Alone
Now" as "The Watcher"? And, finally, who are your favorite *20th* century
composers (mine are Penderecki and Ives)?
A. I believe they have just been re-released. Contact Mike Stephenson - he knows everything! No - unconscious. Lennon/McCartney.
Q. Is it true that Motorhead have retired? I heard a rumor that Overnight
Sensation was your final album... PLEASE NO!!!
A. We have to keep playing to pay Phil's phone bill, Mikkey's bar bill and my hair stylist!
Q. Do you like Rikki Ratman?
A. Yes, and his name is "Rachtman"
