Behind The Music Remastered | Behind The Music Remastered: Motörhead
Motörhead featured on VH1's “Behind the Music.”

VH1 Classic is back with a new lineup of the five-time Emmy award-nominated documentary series “Behind the Music.” This season honors the classic rock artists whose heart-wrenching riffs and ear-shattering screams changed music history forever. The Motörhead episode premieres Saturday, April 20th at 9 PM ET/PT

MOTÖRHEAD 2013 - ONE OF THE BIGGEST YEARS YET!

MOTÖRHEAD, the hardest working, hardest touring band in the world
has one of the biggest years yet in 2013. The Grammy-award winners have been in the recording studio working on their next album, scheduled for release later this year.

It will be the follow-up to the highly successful CD, The Wörld Is Yours, and its follow up, the blistering, multi-formatted (DVD, CD, Vinyl, Blu-Ray) The Wörld Is Ours-Volume 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else, and The Wörld Is Ours - Volume 2 - Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else.

Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, the new record is being made with longtime producer Cameron Webb, who also worked on The Wörld Is Yours, Motörizer, Kiss Of Death and Inferno. The new album continues a worldwide addiction to the Motörhead sound and lifestyle which saw their last several releases break both the band's own sales records and the Billboard Top 100 chart.

VH1 Classic is back with a new lineup of the five-time Emmy award-nominated documentary series “Behind the Music.” This season honors the classic rock artists whose heart-wrenching riffs and ear-shattering screams changed music history forever. The Motörhead episode premieres Saturday, April 20th at 9 PM ET/PT.

This is the first all-original Behind the Music Remastered episode, and what story's more compelling then that of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead. From his start as an English working-class man with big dreams, Kilmister made his way to the top to become one of the most feared and respected men in rock n' roll. This episode features all-new original interviews with rock legends Ozzy Osborne, Dave Grohl, Slash, and Metallica's Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo, as well as interviews with the current lineup of Motörhead. The previous lineup of “Fast” Eddie Clarke and Phil "Filthy Animal" Taylor also make appearances.

Motörhead officially launched Motörheadphones at the Consumer Electronics Shows in Las Vegas in January. As the “loudest band in the world,” it's fitting that they would go in this direction. The new brand, Motörheadphones, has had unprecedented success throughout Europe prior to making their debut in the United States at the CES show. They were developed by the band and targeted to the rock audience, one of the largest audiences of music listeners. “These new headphones are not like the weak-kneed, lily-livered, tin-pot, skinny sounding little pieces of garbage out on the market today,” says Lemmy, “We designed these headphones to deliver everything louder than anything else, and with the sort of range, clarity and TRUE rock reproduction you'd expect from a band of warriors like us.”

Are you thirsty? We recently told you about Motörhead Wine, Beer and Vodka (which is a premium, 80 proof Vodka made from 100% locally grown wheat that has been distilled and bottled in Sweden. It has a rich, full-bodied and complex character, with a light and fruity aftertaste. One reviewer said, “That's how women sometimes describe Lemmy”).
Now comes Motörhead Bourbon. Lemmy calls it Snakebite Bourbon.
As his drink of preference, he wanted to have his own brand. “We have a range of intoxicants,” he says.

Being the true road warriors they are, Motörhead will kick off their worldwide live assault with festivals in Mexico, then off to Europe for a major headline tour beginning in May and culminating with the HUGE Wacken Festival in Germany in August to a sold-out crowd of 80,000.

When asked about the current state of rock and roll, admitting that the music industry has changed, Lemmy still sees the positive side. “There will always be some spotty, pissed off band in a garage somewhere, with cheap guitars, ready to bash your head in…which is as it should be.”

In other Motörhead news:

- In Spin Magazine's “40 Greatest Band Names Of All Time,” Motörhead was #1! Why they thought it's great: "Motörhead" looks and sounds vicious, conjuring visions of pumping pistons, dripping sweat, and copious drugs - images that complement the trio's gritty, raspy, three-minute rawkers. And just like a Motörhead song, the name is short and not so sweet. "I always say one-word names are good," Kilmister says. "Probably the greatest name in the history of rock'n'roll is the Who." But the Who's fans haven't repurposed their heroes' name with as much spirit as Motörhead's maniacal followers. "There's a Motörhead bicycle rental shop in Cypress run by one of our fans," Kilmister says with a laugh. When he went to register Motorhead.com online, a car repair shop had beaten him to the punch. "That's why our website is iMotorhead.com."

- Lemmy has been nominated for the 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Awards for best bassist, with the awards show broadcast live on May 2.

- Motörhead will be headlining the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards on June 17 in London.

- Motörhead had not one, but two records in LA Weekly's Top 20 Metal Albums of All Time. The publcation took a writers' poll looking at the entire scope of the genre, and Motörhead is well represented on the final list with Ace Of Spades and Bomber featured prominently.

- Master of Potato Heads, artist Jason D. Johnson took the Lemmy Icon Figure one step further, making a one-of-a-kind Lemmy Kilmister model, which was dubbed “The Ace Of Spuds.” Complete with tattoos, handlebar mustache, middle finger, and of course, Lemmy's trademark facial moles, this Potato Head creation has been called a conceptual art masterpiece.

- Earlier this year, Lemmy did a photo shoot and interview with platinum rocker Bryan Adams for Germany's Zoo Magazine. Adams has a second career as a professional photographer and personally asked to work with Lemmy.

All in all, the lifestyle that is Motörhead, is one of the world's greatest rock'n'roll acts, who will have a brand new rebel-rousing statement with their new record later this year, an absolute stormer in this, their 37th year as THE greatest, loudest, coolest and most iconic band ever.

HERE WE GO AGAIN – MOTÖRHEAD FIGHT FOR THEIR FANS

MOTÖRHEAD, the hardest working, hardest touring band in the world, loves when fans buy their records, but not this time. A new box set, called Complete Early Years Box Set, has just come out by the company who has the rights to the band's early recordings, and they are charging over $600 for it!
-----------------------------------------------------------
At that time, the band was able to temporarily halt the product from coming out, but now Motörhead has learned that the label is moving ahead with the project, which is scheduled for release in December. Motörhead have no control over what's done with these early songs, and they want to make sure fans are completely aware that they have no involvement whatsoever in releasing such an expensive box set.

Says Motörhead’s iconic frontman Lemmy:
“It really bothers me that these people would put this out at these prices especially in this day and age, when money is tight. There you go again labels, trying to squeeze out every last dime you can from our fans.

But they reap what they sow, don’t they? Look what’s going on with the music business. These are fine examples of corporate greed: reissuing the same stuff over and over again, overcharging the customers with outrageous pricing, basically trying to rape our fanbase.

Although we still make money from record sales, this is not the way I ever intended it. I don’t like to see fans getting ripped off or taken advantage of. And that’s what’s happening here.”

If fans do want to gift a loved one with some new Motörhead product this holiday, by all means, please pick up the band’s most recent The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 2 - Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else, the follow-up to 2011’s The Wörld Is Ours - Vol 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else.

Like it’s sibling, Anyplace Crazy… is packed with more magnificent Motörmaterial from “The Wörld Is Yours” tour, including the triumphant 2011 Wacken headline appearance as well as highlights from the Sonisphere and Rio shows. More than anything, these are new recordings, new releases and compiled with care and attention from the band themselves.

If you want to support Motörhead, then this is the way to do it. And if you do have a hankering for the old material, remember, it is still available piecemeal, and not simply via the outrageously over-priced box set.

The hardest working band is keeping their promise once again!

On the road to play rock’n’roll but this time more successful than ever.

We are very proud to announce that in only eight German headlining shows the band has sold more than 40.000 tickets and can’t keep up with the request for more. The only place we were able to upgrade into a bigger venue is Berlin on Dec 5th , now moved to the Veldodrom with a capacity of 8000 people.
This time around supported by Anthrax who is firing up the crowd with their intense, great show – more than a warm up for all Motörhead Fans! Not only the great package but it seems like Motörhead is like a fine wine – the older they get, the better they come.

The iconic band is not only a lifestyle and stand for rock’n’roll music as loud and hard as it gets – it is simply a MUST to see Lemmy, Phil and Mikkey on stage.

On behalf of the band, the management, the label and the promoter we like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans who made this happen but not to forget the print, radio, online and TV media who supported the band over the years and promoted them so well.

Thank you!

Alan Burridge - Live to win book now available!

This is the most informative book about Motorhead ever, and that is no idle boast. Written by their official biographer, Alan Burridge, who is often referred to by the band s legions of fans, the Motorheadbangers, as Professor Motorhead, this book offers the full and in-depth Motorhead story, including many previously unpublished facts, revealed here for the very first time in print.
This story begins at the genesis of Motorhead, the struggles, the hardships, and the poverty; when no one but founder, bassist and vocalist, Lemmy Kilmister, had any faith in his band. His focus, tunnel-vision, and conviction to play the music he wanted to play has remained undiminished over the past 35 years and counting, and Lemmy s present status as a rock icon is proof that he was right to follow his vision. Today, with his long-time band cohorts, Phil Campbell on guitar, and Mikkey Dee on drums, the trio are regarded as one of the greatest rock bands in the world.
Here we have it, everything you ever wanted to know about Motorhead, but were afraid to ask!
The ultimate guide to one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Motorhead!
200+ full color, glossy pages with shiny silver trim featuring rare and early photos, unreleased material, and more information about the band than any other book on the market - all bound in a gorgeous sliver and red embossed hard cover!
