LOS ANGELES, CA, July 28, 2009 – Severin Films today announced the 10/13 release of the 1990 sci-fi/horror cult classic HARDWARE, the infamous feature film debut of music video visionary turned writer/director Richard Stanley (DUST DEVIL). Originally rated X by the MPAA and subsequently edited by distributor Miramax, HARDWARE will be presented uncut and uncensored for the first time ever from a print supplied by Stanley himself. In addition, the limited edition two-disc DVD and Blu-ray will include audio commentary, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, and Stanley’s never-before-seen hour-long Super 8 version of the film.

But this steel scrap contains the brain of the M.A.R.K. 13, the military’s most ferocious bio-mechanical combat droid. It is cunning, cruel, and knows how to reassemble itself. Tonight, it is reborn…and no flesh shall be spared. Stacey Travis (GHOST WORLD) co-stars – along with appearances by Iggy Pop, Lemmy of Motörhead and music by Ministry and Public Image Ltd. – in this kick-ass sci-fi thriller that New York Newsday hailed as “thought provoking and disturbing”, and Fangoria still calls “gritty, trippy and frightening…HARDWARE is one of the best horror movies you’ve never seen.”

A BIG MONTH FOR MOTÖRHEAD

Motörhead, the hardest working, hardest touring band in the world, is heading into October in a big way.   They're finishing up their very successful U.S. tour this month with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, October 8.   And on October 16, the new issue of Rolling Stone hits the stands and will feature the cultural icons as never seen before.   Internationally renown photographer, Pep Bonet, spent a few months on the road with the band in Europe
and South America, and captured some amazing moments.   This will be the Grammy award-winning rockers' first feature in the U.S. magazine.

The U.S. tour dates looked a little different this time around, as drummer Mikkey Dee took a couple of weeks off to film season one of Kändisdjungeln, Sweden's version of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! where ten celebrities live together in the Malaysian jungle for 16 days.   Velvet Revolver drummer, Matt Sorum, formerly of Guns N' Roses and The Cult, got the call from Lemmy and filled in during Mikkey's absence.

Announced last week was Motörhead's participation in JoggleBug.com's launch.   The site got 85,000 hits that day.   Fans of the powerhouse trio can now check in to the site daily to hear Lemmy's updates from the road.

This month will see the final footage shot for the movie, Lemmy. The filmmakers have spent the last three years shooting one of rock 'n roll's most influential and iconic figures fronting one of the most respected rock bands today.   The up close, personal and outrageous documentary is scheduled for release early next year.

The band heads back to Europe from late October through December, performing throughout the continent with support in the U.K. from eternally cool cohorts The Damned and Girlschool. After that tour, the band will commence work on their as-yet untitled new album.

In a recent interview, legendary founding member Lemmy Kilmister was asked how he would describe Motörhead: “Brutal, tuneful and good for the soul.”

It's a good month for Motörhead.

Rockstar Karaoke

On Sunday, October 11th, the legendary Roxy Theatre will host Rockstar Karaoke.  Join emcee Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and celebrity musicians Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Jason Bonham, Kelly  Hansen of Foreigner, Lemmy of  Motorhead, Jeff Pilson of Foreigner and Dokken, Trevor Rabin, Rudy Sarzo of Whitesnake and Quiet Riot, Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats and The Head Cat, Austin Winkler of HINDER, and more for some Classic Rock Karaoke featuring Dude Jones.  The event, sponsored by designer Mark Nason, will benefit The Painted Turtle Camp.

Motorhead Drum Tech to stand in for Mikkey Dee in Calgary

Motorhead have added a second Calgary show on September 27th due to overwhelming demand. Mikkey Dee, fresh from his time on the Swedish Version of the TV show ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of here’ wont be back in the drum seat until the following day, so Mikkeys Tech Francis Ruiz will take his place for this one show. Francis, a very accomplished drummer in his own right having played with Great White, CC DeVille and currently playing with LA based 40 Cycle Hum has no problem sitting in to help his employers out.  Mikkey Dee will play the second Calgary show on the 28th and then through to the last date of the current US tour in Las Vegas on Oct 10th before heading out to Europe for their annual Autumn tour.

Matt Sorum (Velvet Relvolver, Guns ‘n Roses, The Cult) stood in for Mikkey in his absense on 11 shows of the current North American run.

Motorhead will appear on the Jimmy Kimmel show on October 8th.
